BIOGRAPHY

Mirian began her professional career in International law firms, as associate to: White&Case, Baker&Mackenzie y Gomez-Acebo&Pombo, specialized in international contracting and European affairs. Until year 2000 she served as civil servant at the European Commission, where she was a cabinet member to commissioner Marcelino Oreja and drafted policies in favour of SMEs.

Director and conceiver of the I+D+i European Union project: Xportplus.net, an Internet platform entailing the digital transformation of foreign trade. Project winner of the best entrepreneurial idea of the year in the RTVE/Chambers of commerce contest; the IESE and IE business schools contests of the best business plan and finalist of the “academic entrepreneurs” prize of EVERIS Foundation.

Senior counsellor to the President at Calidad Pascual. Previously LCA DIRECTOR having done the strategy to change the Spanish legislation concerning yogurts, evidencing existing barriers to trade at international level, in order to sell company products and block the change of legislation at EU and US level.

At present, CEO of Comerciando global, a strategy consulting specialised in foreign trade, EU corporate affairs and institutional marketing. President of the Woman Forward Foundation, to promote the participation of women in the highest decision instances. Director of several non-profits.

Author of several publications in foreign trade, EU policies, corporate Boards&gender diversity; one being published on the situation of women in the corporate world.

Lawyer-economist, Masters degree in Community Law (Deusto University), European law and Economy (Saarbrücken University), MBA (Vrije University Brussels); Master in Communications&TV Production El Mundo/TRACOR; Digital business management (La Salle University); Social media (Alcalá University). Training as corporate Director at HBS and on Negotiation. PHd candidate at Witten-Höerdecke on the impact of digital transformation on corporate boards.
