BIOGRAPHY

Rocío Hortigüela M.Sc. (Min. Eng.) ETSI de Minas, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Specialist in Energy and Fuels. She has more than twenty years of professional experience both in technical as well as top management positions. She started her career as analyst in a Chilean bank, and afterwards she occupied different positions as Chief Engineer or market and business development manager in the hydraulic pump’s industry, as well as in the sector of electric components and equipment distribution, until year 2006 when she founded her first company. Currently she owns and manages a group of companies specialized in different activities related to renewable energy sector; energy production; O&M; engineering and consultancy.

She has also proactively defended the renewable energy sector interests through her work as Chair of Anpier (Spanish National Association of Renewable Energy Investors and Producers) and Co-chairing Unef (Spanish Photovoltaic Association). She was also VP of Fluidex from 1999 to 2000.

She has been recently nominated independent director of board of directors of Grenergy.

Ms. Hortigüela’s interests also include humanitarian and environmental issues as shown by her work at the Kellogg Foundation, Save the Children, or Açao Empresarial pela cidadania.
